Frequently Asked Questions

What does TheraPlate do for horses?
TheraPlate therapy systems for horses use a dynamic Vortex Wave Circulation Therapy technology to stimulate muscle contractions while your horse stands on a portable device. The TheraPlate can help a horse develop muscle tone and maintain bone density, which is especially helpful for a horse on stall rest or rehabbing an injury. TherePlate also helps reduce pain, swelling, inflammation, and rehab for soft tissue injuries and overall soreness.

What is better, TheraPlate Vortex Wave Therapy or vibration treatment?
TheraPlate uses small, circular movements to stimulate muscle contraction and increase circulation. TheraPlate Works from the inside out to yield powerful results with no negative impact to the joints. This dynamic movement is exclusive to TheraPlate and is much more advanced than vibration therapy.

My horse is not a performance horse or injured. Will it still be beneficial?
Absolutely. TheraPlate treatment can be used to maintain a horse's health from the inside out as part of a regular pampering regime.

How long should each session last?
Research has shown treatments between 15-20 minutes have the best results. Each mobile session with TheraPlate South England lasts 20 minutes.

Will my horse enjoy the TheraPlate treatment?
Horses love their TheraPlate pampering session because they feel better on it. They will happily and safely stand on the plate for the duration of the treatment time.

You will see signs of enjoyment and relaxation such as-
• Licking and Chewing
• Droopy lower lips
• Floppy ears
• Lowered head and neck
• Slower, deeper breathing, and sighs
• Visibly relaxed muscles

Do I need to provide any special equipment?
All you will need to provide is a flat and undercover surface for the plate to stand on. A concrete or rubber matting surface is preferable. Mains electricity isn't a requirement as we provide our own battery-powered generator. However, if mains power is available, it is a bonus.

Do I need to be present for the treatment to take place?

Do you offer a discount for seeing multiple horses at one location?
Of course! If 3 or more horses are treated at any one time, a discount of 15% is offered.
