TheraPlate therapy is the result of over 30 years research and development and uses advanced patented Vortex Wave Circulation Therapy (VWCT) technology to maintain your horse's health and support the rehabilitation and recovery following injury or exertion.
This ZERO impact treatment uses centrifugal force (not vibrations) to induce involuntary muscle contraction, which increases blood circulation to areas of the body not usually targeted when standing still.
VWCT administered through TheraPlate is an important addition to the exercise regime of performance horses, an alternative therapy for a variety of chronic conditions, as well as supporting a regular maintenance plan to improve your horse's day-to-day health and well-being.
Vortex Wave Circulation Therapy is a patented technology which induces involuntary muscle contractions that increase the blood flow around your horse's body significantly. These contractions can be increased by up to a few 1000 times a minute and act as pumps to move blood flow to areas that otherwise have limited circulation when at rest.
With settings from 0-100Hz (cycles per second) the impact free therapy can be customised to increase circulation, relax stiff muscles, and provide isotonic exercise to our equine patients. TheraPlate is physical therapy and NOT physical fitness, meaning your horse can safely use TheraPlate to aid a faster recovery time during times of rest, to help improve circulation when he's not physically active.
Studies have found that just 15 minutes on a TheraPlate prevents the bone resorption seen in non weight bearing situations and supports muscle mass as well as greater nutrient foramen thickness and circumference. The TheraPlate is also extraordinarily helpful in maintaining fitness. It provides isotonic exercise to horses with wounds or tendon and ligament injuries who need restricted motion.
Many riders are using TheraPlate to warm up their performance horses prior to competition.
